How we create waves....
Based in West Sussex, Creative Waves' pioneering artists Nadia Chalk & Vanessa Breen
share their vision, energy & passion to create inspiring community projects that bring
people together.
"Amongst the paint, ideas and enthusiasm our goal is simple; to make a positive difference to people's lives, creating smiles & improving health & wellbeing. Our challenge is to motivate people to feel connected to their surroundings through arts & culture, heritage & our natural environment, we do this in a variety of ways:
Art on the Pier - our innovative outdoor gallery on Worthing Pier is free to view all year round and showcases a diverse range of exhibitions from professional artists to school children, to heritage, community & environmental displays.
'Bugcycle' - our community garden in Beach House Park, Worthing. We encourage volunteers & local schools to be involved in helping shape a unique space for all to enjoy, ongoing creative activities, early years educational activities, gardening & wellbeing workshops.
Heritage - we produced three successful National Lottery Heritage projects involving hundreds of local people & school children and created exhibitions, heritage trails, a short film, booklets and permanent heritage display boards for Worthing seafront. We also work in partnership with other organisations assisting with their heritage projects including: educational outreach, designing heritage panels & leaflets and creating bespoke artworks including mosaics & engraved wood.
Wellbeing & Nature - as well as being in our community garden, we love being outdoors in nature; whether its wellbeing walks on the South Downs, running creative workshops in our community garden or creating bespoke murals & art trails in parks & gardens.
Arts Education - we have worked in over 40 schools & colleges teaching and inspiring young people to explore their creativity, whilst learning the value of art and design as an enjoyable pathway for future careers in the creative industries. We design bespoke art projects, artworks and sculptures for the school that the pupils help create and share their input and ideas during our workshops.
Our projects are all inclusive, designed for people of all ages and we couldn’t do any of
it without your support, encouragement and participation!!! "
